of <h1>1978 Instruction Updates Accounting Structure for Direct Taxes: New Minor & Sub-Heads, Effective FY 1978-79.</h1> Instruction No. 1203/CBDT, dated September 14, 1978, addresses changes in the accounting structure for receipts of Direct Taxes. In consultation with relevant financial authorities, the revised minor and sub-heads for these accounts have been established to meet the Central Government's accounting needs and the managerial requirements of the Income-tax Department. These changes are effective from the financial year 1978-79. Modifications should be made in the D & CR and refund registers to reflect these changes, and the revised account statement proforma will be provided separately. Enclosed guidance notes detail these changes to prevent accounting errors.
