Ministry eliminates quarantine officer counter-signature requirement for poultry export health certificates, streamlining certification process
The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue issued a circular eliminating the requirement for quarantine officer counter-signature on health certificates for export of poultry and poultry products. This decision was made in consultation with the Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Agriculture's Department of Animal Husbandry-Dairying. Health certificates issued by designated agencies including the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, Export Inspection Agency, and state Animal Husbandry Departments will no longer require additional quarantine officer validation. The circular instructs all concerned parties to be informed of this procedural change and directs the issuance of appropriate public notices and trade notices to implement the new streamlined certification process for poultry exports.
