However, this section was removed by the Finance Act, 2002, effective April 1, 2003. Consequently, Doordarshan and All India Radio are now required to pay service tax. The circular modifies earlier instructions and directs relevant authorities to ensure the immediate registration of all Prasar Bharati units for tax purposes.
