of <h1>New Utility Helps Assessing Officers Process Old Tax Refunds via Refund Banker System for Efficient Delivery.</h1> The Directorate of Income Tax has introduced a utility to assist Assessing Officers (AOs) in sending old tax refunds through the refund banker system. Previously, refunds generated before the implementation of the refund banker scheme were not transmitted to the State Bank of India, CMP branch. The new utility allows AOs to identify unprocessed refunds using criteria such as PAN, assessment year, or amount range. If no paper refund has been issued, AOs can use the utility to confirm and transmit the refund through the refund banker. Instructions for utilizing this utility have been provided to relevant users.
