of <h1>CBDT Extends Income Tax Return Filing Deadline to October 15, 2010, Due to Floods and Rains; Section 44AB Audit Deadline Also Extended.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the due date for filing income tax returns for the Assessment Year 2010-11 from September 30, 2010, to October 15, 2010. This decision was made due to disruptions in general life caused by floods and heavy rains. Consequently, the deadline for submitting the Tax Audit report under section 44AB of the Income Tax Act, 1961, is also extended to October 15, 2010.
