of <h1>New Procedure for State SEZ Bill Clearance Involves Consensus Building and Final Approval by Home Affairs Ministry.</h1> The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Commerce have established a streamlined procedure for the clearance of State Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Bills. The Department of Commerce is tasked with consulting relevant government departments to build consensus and compiling their recommendations and no objections. These are then forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs for final approval and presidential assent. SEZ Development Commissioners are instructed to send a copy of this communication to the nodal department of the respective state government.
