of <h1>Exporters Must Declare Chapter 3 FTP Benefits on Shipping Bills Starting Jan 2011, Include 8-Digit ITC (HS) Code.</h1> The circular mandates that from January 1, 2011, exporters must declare their intent to claim benefits under Chapter 3 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2009-14 on shipping bills. Exporters are also required to include the 8-digit ITC (HS) code on shipping bills. If the specific code is not available, the relevant reward scheme entry should be noted. The Customs EDI software (ICEGATE) will be updated to facilitate this process. Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) are tasked with educating exporters about these changes. This directive has been approved by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
