EPCG Applicants Must Verify Declarations; Non-Applicable Clauses Must Be Deleted to Avoid Deficiencies.
Applicants for EPCG authorizations under Zero Duty or 3% Duty have been routinely submitting declarations without verifying their applicability. This includes declarations related to the EPCG Scheme, such as import of spares or sector-specific imports. Despite instructions to strike out non-applicable clauses, this has not been followed, including by Chartered Engineers and Accountants. Previously accepted without issue, the office now mandates that only relevant declarations be submitted, with non-applicable ones deleted. Non-compliance will result in deficiencies being raised. The trade and industry sectors are urged to adhere to these guidelines.
