of <h1>India Allows SEZ Unit Transfers; Proposals Must Be Submitted to Board for Approval Under SEZ Rules.</h1> The Government of India has been receiving requests to transfer units between Special Economic Zones (SEZs) due to various reasons. Although SEZ Rules neither explicitly allow nor prohibit such transfers, the consolidation of SEZs might increase these requests. The Board of Approvals has reviewed the matter and decided that there is no objection in principle to such shifts. However, all proposals for transferring units between SEZs must be submitted to the Board for consideration.
