of <h1>New Procedure for Importing Sports Weapons by Renowned Shooters in India: Direct Applications to DGFT Regional Authorities.</h1> The circular from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade outlines a revised procedure for the import of sports weapons by 'Renowned Shooters' in India. Previously, import license applications were routed through the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The new process allows shooters to apply directly to Regional Authorities of DGFT after obtaining recommendations from the National Rifle Association of India. The Regional Authorities will issue the license after receiving comments from the Association, and there is no longer a need for approval from the DGFT Headquarters once the recommendation is received. This change aims to simplify and streamline the import process.
