of <h1>Service Tax Assessees Paying Over Rs. 10 Lakh Must E-File Returns and Pay Electronically Starting April 1, 2010.</h1> Effective April 1, 2010, service tax assessees who paid ten lakh rupees or more in the previous financial year must e-file returns and pay taxes electronically via internet banking. Assessees registered before the ACES system launch must apply for login credentials using a declaration form and submit it to their respective division. The form can be downloaded online, and email updates may take up to 10 days. Assessees are urged to submit declarations promptly to avoid delays and ensure timely filing of returns. The declaration includes details such as the assessee's name, service tax code, and contact information.
