Policy Circular No. 94 Amended: New IEC Verification Requires Two-Member Team Led by FTDO or Equivalent.
The amendment to Policy Circular No. 94, dated June 16, 2009, concerns the verification process of new Importer Exporter Codes (IEC). The updated policy mandates that physical verification be conducted by a two-member team led by an officer not below the rank of Foreign Trade Development Officer (FTDO). In exceptional cases, with specific orders from the Head of Office in Regional Authorities, a team consisting of an FTDO, Section Head, or Licensing Authority, along with a UDC or Senior LDC, may perform the inspection. This amendment is approved by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
