of <h1>New Central Excise Rules from July 1, 2001, Maintain Existing Procedures for EOUs and SEZ Units to Avoid Disruption.</h1> The circular addresses the difficulties faced by Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and units in Export Processing Zones (EPZ), Software Technology Parks (STP), and Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in procuring indigenous goods without paying duty. It highlights the introduction of new Central Excise Rules effective from July 1, 2001, which replace previous rules. Despite these changes, the existing procedures under Notification No. 1/95-C.E. for EOUs remain unchanged to avoid confusion and disruption. The Board has decided that current procedures and requirements should continue to be followed until further notice, ensuring no administrative difficulties for the units involved.
