<h1>DGFT Circular: Sugar Export Quota Adjustments for 1996-97 and 1997-98 Seasons; Increased Allocations to EU and USA.</h1> The circular from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) addresses the export of sugar from the free sale quota for the 1996-97 sugar season. Initially, a ceiling of 250,000 MTs was set for export, with M/s Indian Sugar & General Industry Export Import Corporation Ltd. allocated 35,500 MTs under preferential arrangements. This quantity was later increased to 36,300 MTs for export to the EU and USA. The circular further announces the release of 10,500 MTs of raw cane sugar for export to the EU against the preferential quota for the 1997-98 delivery period, maintaining previous terms and conditions.
