Export Rules: HPS Groundnut Free to Export, Licenses Needed for Sesame, Sunflower, Safflower, Rape & Mustard Seeds.
The circular issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade addresses the export regulations for certain seeds during the licensing year 1997-98. It clarifies that HPS Groundnut can be exported freely without quantitative restrictions or the need for export licenses. However, for Sesamum (Sesame Seeds), Sunflower Seeds, Safflower Seeds, Rape seeds, and Mustard Seeds, exporters must apply for export licenses as per the procedures outlined in the Handbook of Procedures 1997-2002. This decision was made in consultation with the Ministry of Agriculture, in response to inquiries regarding the applicability of export restrictions under the EXIM Policy 1997-2002.
