Condonation of Delays: Late Special Import Licence Applications Now Considered with 25% Cut, Within Six Months.
The circular addresses the condonation of delays in filing applications for Special Import Licences. Previously, the EXIM Policy and Procedures, 1992-97 did not allow consideration of late applications, leading to rejections. However, it has now been decided that applications submitted within six months after the deadline may be considered, subject to a 25% late cut on entitlement. This decision aims to accommodate exporters who missed the original deadline. The approval for this change comes from the Director General of Foreign Trade.
