Ministry of Commerce amends export policy, allowing Indian sheep and goat meat export under specific conditions.
The corrigendum issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry addresses amendments in the export policy for meat of sheep and goat under Chapter 2 of the ITC(HS) Classification. The previous entries, which prohibited the export of various cuts of sheep and goat meat, have been revised. The amended entries now permit the export of Indian sheep and goat meat, both boneless and with bone, under specific quality control and inspection conditions as outlined in Notes 3, 4, and 6. These changes are effective as per Notification No. 46 dated 20.02.2007, with the approval of the Competent Authority.
