These categories are taxed at different rates, and the current 'value' column in the register is not useful under the specific rate assessment system. To address this, the Board, in consultation with the Directorate General of Inspection, has decided to temporarily modify the RG 1 register by subdividing the 'value' column to display the quantities of levy and free sale sugar cleared, facilitating easier assessment.
