of <h1>Ministry of Finance allows temporary cigarette length printing relaxation until May 31, 1987, for existing stock only.</h1> The circular from the Ministry of Finance addresses the issue of printing cigarette lengths on packaging. Due to existing inventory, manufacturers are temporarily allowed to print the length and price on the cigarette slide for current stock until May 31, 1987. After this date, the length must be printed on the cigarette shell. This relaxation does not apply to new brands, which must have the length printed on the shell. Manufacturers must declare the number of packages using this relaxation and advertise the length and price to consumers. Central Excise collectors are instructed to permit clearances based on these guidelines.
