of <h1>India Introduces Separate Serial Numbers for Non-Tariff Notifications Under Central Excise and Salt Act, 1944.</h1> With effect from January 1, 1988, the Government of India has implemented a system to assign separate running serial numbers to Non-Tariff Notifications. These notifications are issued under the provisions of the Central Excise and Salt Act, 1944, and its associated rules, excluding rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944. The notifications will be labeled with 'Non-Tariff' in abbreviated form. A trade notice should be issued to inform the relevant parties about this change.
