of <h1>National Time Release Study 2026 tracks import-export cargo release times; airlines and custodians must submit complete timestamp data.</h1> Chennai Air Cargo Commissionerate is designated as a participating formation for CBIC's National Time Release Study (NTRS) 2026 covering Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills filed from 01.01.2026 to 07.01.2026, with tracking continuing until grant of out-of-charge/let export order or 07.02.2026, whichever is earlier; this enables measurement of end-to-end cargo release time from filing to gate exit. Stakeholders (including airlines and custodians) are directed to furnish complete, consistent logistics time-stamp data to the nodal officer in the prescribed template and formats, maintain written records where manual capture is required, and report anomalies the same day; this ensures reliable sampling for benchmark assessment (imports under 24 hours and exports under 12 hours). Customs officers are instructed to follow extant CBIC instructions and proactively coordinate with PGAs to expedite clearances; this supports faster releases and identification of process bottlenecks.
