        <h1>Request to waive detention, demurrage and related charges for containers affected by port suspension 28 to 31 August 2024</h1> Due to suspension of port operations from 27-31 August 2024 caused by a severe weather depression, container movements and documentation were disrupted and normalized on 31 August; stakeholders are requested to favor waivers of detention, demurrage and related charges for 28-31 August 2024. The customs authority waives late-filing fees for Bills of Entry delayed by the disruption for containers/vessels with inward entry during 28-31 August 2024, subject to production of supporting evidence. Implementation issues may be notified to the Additional Commissioner by email, and this Public Notice shall operate as a standing order for the customs house staff.
