of <h1>Customs broker licences now granted lifetime validity under CBIC Notification No. 62/2021; regulation 7(2) EDI records updated</h1> Office directs that Customs Broker licences have been granted lifetime validity under CBIC Notification No. 62/2021, subject to revocation provisions and deemed invalidity if the licensee is inactive for one year. A prior public notice extended similar licences to lifetime but some records were not updated on the EDI system. As a trade facilitation measure, validity for brokers operating under regulation 7(2) has now been updated to lifetime on the EDI system for the Mumbai jurisdiction. Stakeholders experiencing difficulties are invited to report them to the issuing office.
