AD Category-III standalone primary dealers now permitted to trade non-deliverable rupee derivatives with residents and non-residents; amendments effective immediately
Authorised Dealer Category-III standalone primary dealers are now permitted to transact in non-deliverable rupee derivative contracts with residents and non-residents, extending previously available permissions for AD Category-I banks operating IFSC banking units. The Master Direction on risk management and inter-bank dealings has been amended in multiple paragraphs to reflect this inclusion. The changes are effective immediately; 'Authorised Persons' for this purpose comprise AD Cat-I banks and standalone primary dealers authorised as AD Cat-III. The directions are issued under relevant banking and foreign exchange statutes and do not obviate other statutory permissions or approvals.
