of <h1>Customs launches voluntary ICEGATE e-payments to replace manual TR-6 for past dues; manual TR-6 ends 19 July 2025</h1> A customs authority has enabled voluntary/self-initiated electronic payments on its ICEGATE e-payment platform to replace manual TR-6 over-the-counter payments, allowing registered users to generate challans and pay without officer approval; the facility is for past import/export dues (not for clearance of live consignments) and requires selection of a prescribed payment purpose. Payments may be made from Electronic Cash Ledger or via specified banks, NEFT/RTGS or payment aggregators, with additional banks to be enabled after testing. Manual TR-6 payments are to be discontinued after 19 July 2025 except with express senior approval. A user manual and a designated contact are provided for issues.
