of <h1>Sea Appraising Dept merges into Air Appraising Dept; Air-PAD to handle all former sea consignments from 4 Aug 2025</h1> The Sea Postal Appraising Department/Foreign Post Office has been merged with the Air Postal Appraising Department/Foreign Post Office, effective 4 August 2025; all postal import and export consignments previously cleared by the Sea-PAD under the Import Commissionerate will henceforth be cleared by the Air-PAD under the Airport Commissionerate (Chennai-1). The unified Foreign Post Office will operate from the Air-PAD/FPO at Meenambakkam, Chennai; stakeholders must direct future postal-clearance correspondence and queries to the Postal Appraising Department at the Meenambakkam address and provided email, or contact the Chennai-1 (Airport) Commissionerate for assistance.
