of <h1>Authorized Officers Designated for Food Import Clearance Under FSS Act Section 25 and Regulation 13(1)</h1> The circular notifies the designation of authorized officers under Section 25 read with Section 47(5) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and Regulation 13(1) of the Food Safety and Standards (Import) Regulations, 2017, for food import clearance at 165 specified points of entry across India. It updates and expands the list of ports, airports, land customs stations, and special economic zones where designated officials, including FSSAI officers and customs personnel, are empowered to oversee food safety compliance for imports. The notification modifies previous instructions and requests that relevant authorities sensitize officers under their jurisdiction accordingly. Any difficulties encountered are to be reported to the Board.
