of <h1>Central Board of Direct Taxes Sets Up Multiple Appeal Units Under Faceless Appeal Scheme 2021</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has established multiple Appeal Units under the Faceless Appeal Scheme, 2021, effective from December 29, 2021, superseding a prior office order. These units, headquartered across various cities, are empowered to function through Commissioners of Income-tax (Appeals) and other designated income-tax authorities and staff as deemed necessary by the Board. The jurisdictional Principal Chief Commissioner of Income-tax will provide the required personnel for each unit. This structural setup aims to facilitate faceless income tax appeals and has been approved by the Chairman of the Board.
