of <h1>National Faceless Appeal Centre Set Up Under Faceless Appeal Scheme, 2021 for Income Tax Appeals</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has established the National Faceless Appeal Centre (NFAC) under the Faceless Appeal Scheme, 2021, effective from December 29, 2021, superseding a prior office order. The NFAC, headquartered in Delhi, comprises designated Income-tax authorities including Principal Chief Commissioner, Commissioners, and Income-tax Officers, supported by necessary ministerial and consultant staff as determined by the Principal Chief Commissioner in consultation with the Board. This setup aims to facilitate faceless appeals in income tax matters, enhancing efficiency and transparency in the appellate process. The order is issued with the approval of the Chairman of the Board.
