of <h1>CBDT Appoints Director General to Share Tax Data with Tamil Nadu IT Department under Section 138(1)(a) of Income-tax Act</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes, under section 138(1)(a) of the Income-tax Act, 1961, designates the Director General of Income-tax (Systems), New Delhi, as the authority to provide information to the Secretary of the Information Technology & Digital Service Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The Directorate of e-Governance, Tamil Nadu, will submit Aadhaar numbers and relevant assessment years via SFTP Mode. The Director General will respond with the income-tax payee status and PAN details. The response frequency and information exchange mode will be determined collaboratively, using secure digital means.
