of <h1>Government to Regularize Casual Workers in Line with Supreme Court Ruling; Must Meet Uma Devi Conditions for Eligibility</h1> The Directorate of Income Tax, Government of India, has issued instructions to regularize casual workers in accordance with a Supreme Court judgment dated July 3, 2023. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has agreed to implement this decision, provided the workers meet conditions from the Uma Devi judgment, including having worked for at least ten years in sanctioned posts by April 10, 2006. The Department of Expenditure also supports this proposal. Eligible workers will be regularized in Group D and merged into the MTS cadre. This directive aims for uniformity and to prevent unnecessary litigation.
