of <h1>India Implements New Sea Cargo Manifest Regulations from Jan 2025, Replacing Old Rules.</h1> The Government of India mandates the filing of arrival, departure, and local manifests in Sea Cargo Manifest and Transshipment Regulations (SCMTR) formats starting January 16, 2025, at all sea ports and ICDs. This replaces previous regulations from 1971, 1976, and 1965. The SCMTR format has been successfully implemented at nine ports since September 2024. Stakeholders are encouraged to adopt the new format immediately to ensure a smooth transition and are advised to review the Message Implementation Guidelines. For any issues, contact the SCMTR Cell at Chennai Custom House.
