Customs Department Urges Exporters to Resolve Duty Drawback Queries by July 31, 2024, to Avoid Processing Delays.
The Customs Department has issued a notice addressing the backlog of pending duty drawback claims. Exporters, customs brokers, and shipping liners are urged to verify the status of their claims immediately after the Let Export Order and EGM filing. Many claims are delayed due to exporters not responding to queries, and these are pending in the 'Query Raised to the Exporter' queue. Exporters are required to respond by July 31, 2024, to expedite processing. Failure to respond will result in claims being processed based on available records. A list of pending claims is attached for reference, and assistance can be sought from the Deputy Commissioner of Customs.
