Mumbai-II Commissionerate Launches Special Service Tax Cells for Streamlined Tax Processes Starting July 1, 2001.

A Special Service Tax Cell is being established in all divisional offices under the Mumbai-II Commissionerate, effective from July 1, 2001. This cell will focus exclusively on service tax matters, including the registration of new assessees, scrutiny of service tax returns, and follow-up actions regarding tax payments. Each cell will be led by a Superintendent under the supervision of a Deputy or Assistant Commissioner. Existing and prospective service tax assessees are advised to direct all correspondence, returns, and inquiries to the relevant divisional office. The notice provides contact details for nine divisional offices within the Commissionerate.
