of <h1>Mumbai-II Centralizes Service Tax Work to Boost Efficiency; Files Now at Piramal Chambers from March 1, 2001.</h1> The service tax work has been centralized at the Headquarters office of the Mumbai-II Commissionerate due to administrative inconveniences caused by previous decentralization to divisional offices. A service tax cell has been established, led by the Additional Commissioner of Central Excise, to enhance administrative efficiency and convenience for assessees. The cell is located at Piramal Chambers, Mumbai, and assessees are instructed to file their registration and returns there starting March 1, 2001. Trade associations are requested to inform their members about this change.
