UK Replaces GSP with DCTS: Indian Exporters Must Adapt by Jan 1, 2024 for Duty Concessions.
The United Kingdom has replaced its origin declaration process under the Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP) with the UK Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) effective from June 19, 2023. The transition period ended on December 31, 2023. From January 1, 2024, Indian exporters must comply with the new DCTS rules to benefit from concessions on exports to the UK. Goods meeting the DCTS Rules of Origin can claim reduced import duties. Exporters must use the DCTS origin declaration wording for self-certification instead of the GSP wording.
