of <h1>Customs Notification Amendment: New Guidelines for Import of Telecom Equipment, Effective April 1, 2023.</h1> The circular addresses the amendment of notification No. 57/2017-Customs by notification No. 02/2019-Customs, concerning telecom equipment classified under tariff items 8517 62 90 and 8517 69 90. It emphasizes the need for stakeholders to understand specific descriptions of telecom products for effective identification. In collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications, detailed identification guidelines are provided in Annexure-I. From April 1, 2023, importers must declare an alphanumeric code in their import declarations for these products. The notice serves as a standing order for Customs officers in Mumbai Zone-III, with issues to be reported to the Commissioner.
