of <h1>DGFT to Issue Electronic Import Authorisations for EDI Ports from Oct 19, 2023; Paper Copies Discontinued.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced that from October 19, 2023, the issuance of physical copies of Restricted Import Authorisations for EDI ports will be discontinued, and authorisations will be issued electronically. The data will be transmitted directly to the Customs Port of Registration. However, authorisations for non-EDI ports will still be issued in paper form. Amendments or revalidations for authorisations issued before this date will follow the existing paper-based process. Authorisation holders can download electronic copies from the DGFT website. Any implementation issues should be reported to the Directorate.
