<h1>India Updates Customs Tariff Act with HS 2022 Amendments Effective January 1, 2022; Guidance Available Online.</h1> The Government of India's Ministry of Finance has announced the publication of the seventh edition of the Harmonized System of Nomenclature (HS 2022), effective from January 1, 2022. This edition includes 351 amendments at the six-digit level, affecting a wide range of goods. These changes align the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, with the HS 2022, as per the Finance Act, 2021. A guidance document for transitioning to HS 2022 is available on the CBIC website. Any difficulties encountered should be reported to the Additional Commissioner of Customs via email.
