of <h1>Chennai Customs Waives Late Fees for May 1-2, 2022, Due to System Error Under Finance Act 2022 Changes.</h1> The Finance Act 2022 introduced changes to the Customs Tariff effective from May 1, 2022. Due to a system error, stakeholders in the Chennai Customs Zone faced difficulties in filing Bills of Entry for vessels arriving on May 1 and 2, 2022. Consequently, the late fee imposed under the Bill of Entry (forms) amendment Regulations, 2017, will be waived for delayed filings related to Import General Manifests (IGMs) on these dates, upon presentation of a negative acknowledgment. This notice serves as a standing order for departmental officers and staff, with any issues to be reported to the Additional Commissioner of Customs.
