of <h1>Amnesty Scheme for Export Obligation Defaults Announced: Settle by Paying Customs Duties with Interest Limits, Excludes Fraud Cases.</h1> The circular announces an amnesty scheme for settling defaults in export obligations by holders of Advance and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) authorizations. As per Notification No. 32/2023-Customs, amendments allow regularization of defaults through payment of applicable Customs duties, with interest capped at 100% of exempted duties. No interest is charged on Additional Customs Duty and Special Additional Customs Duty. The scheme excludes cases under investigation for fraud or unauthorized activities. Authorization holders must complete payments by September 30, 2023, and cannot claim CENVAT Credit or refunds on duties paid under this scheme.
