Amendment to Interest Equalisation Scheme: UIN Now Valid Per Financial Year, Bank-Specific; Multi-Bank Needs Multiple UINs.
Trade Notice No. 04/2023-24, dated April 21, 2023, issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, addresses amendments to the Interest Equalisation Scheme concerning the Unique Identification Number (UIN). Initially, beneficiaries were required to submit a UIN for a one-time disbursement per bank. However, due to operational challenges, the amendment is deferred. Revised guidelines state that a UIN will be valid for a financial year and specific to one bank. Beneficiaries seeking benefits from multiple banks must obtain a new UIN for each bank. This notice is approved by the Competent Authority.
