of <h1>GST Council Cuts Rates on Electric Vehicles, Exempts Local Authorities from GST on Bus Hire, Extends Filing Deadlines.</h1> The 36th GST Council Meeting, chaired by the Union Finance Minister, was conducted via video conference on July 27, 2019. Key agenda items included confirming the minutes of the 35th meeting, ratifying notifications and orders issued by the Central Government, and discussing GST rate changes on electric vehicles and related supplies. The Council agreed to reduce GST rates on electric vehicles and chargers to 5% and exempt hiring electric buses by local authorities from GST, effective August 1, 2019. Additionally, deadlines for filing certain GST forms were extended. The meeting concluded with appreciation for outgoing senior officers.
