Finance Ministry Eases Container Re-export Rules: Extension from 6 to 9 Months for Export Cargo Until March 2022.
The circular issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, addresses easing container availability for export cargo. It references a previous circular and notification allowing the extension of the re-export period for imported containers. The Assistant Commissioner can extend this period from six months to nine months upon written justification. As a temporary measure, if the initial six-month period ends on or before March 31, 2022, importers can notify the intention to re-export containers within the next three months, thus promoting the export of laden marine containers. Any issues should be reported to the Board.
