of <h1>CBIC Enhances Container Availability for Exporters by Expediting Disposal of Unclaimed Goods and Releasing TEUs.</h1> The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has implemented measures to improve container availability for exporters. Following the disposal of over 1.6 lakh consignments and the release of nearly 14,000 TEUs, an updated list of long-standing TEUs has been circulated. Field formations are instructed to expedite the disposal of unclaimed goods, following specific timelines, and to release containers involved in import cargo inquiries. Monthly reports on progress, including reasons for non-release such as court cases, are required. Proactive steps are encouraged to facilitate container release, with detailed reporting formats provided in annexures.
