of <h1>India Eases Gas Cylinder Rules for Faster Oxygen Imports During COVID-19; Online Approvals by PESO Now Available.</h1> The Government of India has implemented relaxations under the Gas Cylinders Rules, 2016, to expedite approvals for importing oxygen cylinders and pressure vessels amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization (PESO) will now grant approvals online without physical inspections, based on submitted documentation such as ISO certificates and hydro test certificates. Importers can bring in cylinders urgently for COVID relief without prior PESO approval, but must comply with certain conditions before use. These relaxations, valid for six months, aim to enhance oxygen distribution logistics in India during the pandemic.
