of <h1>Union Budget 2021-22 Introduces Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess on Imports, Effective February 2, 2021.</h1> The Union Budget 2021-22 introduced key changes in customs duties, including the Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess (AIDC) on imported goods. Effective from February 2, 2021, AIDC applies to goods specified under the Customs Tariff Act and excisable goods under the Finance Bill. Importers must declare relevant notifications in the Bill of Entry to claim exemptions. Changes in the EDI System have been implemented to accommodate these updates, and manual verification of duty calculations is advised initially. Any discrepancies should be reported to the Directorate General of Systems and Data Management. This notice informs stakeholders of these changes.
