<h1>India Sets FPI Corporate Bond Investment Cap for 2021-22; Limits for Govt Securities to be Announced Separately.</h1> The circular addresses investment limits for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI) in India for the fiscal year 2021-22. The investment cap for FPIs in corporate bonds remains at 15% of the outstanding stock, with specific limits set for two halves of the fiscal year: Rs. 5,74,263 crore for April-September 2021 and Rs. 6,07,039 crore for October-March 2022. Limits for FPIs in Central Government securities and State Development Loans will be announced separately; current limits remain in effect until then. Authorized Dealer Category-I banks are instructed to inform their clients of these updates, as mandated under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999.
