India Updates Livestock Import Rules: No Customs-Sealed Samples Needed for 'No Testing' Category from July 20, 2020.
The Government of India has revised the testing requirements for the import of livestock products under the Livestock Importation Act, 1898. Effective from July 20, 2020, no customs-sealed samples are required for imported consignments classified under the 'No Testing' category. These consignments will receive clearance through the Single Window System based on the Veterinary Health Certificate and other relevant documents submitted by the importer. This measure aims to facilitate ease of doing business and expedite the clearance process. Compliance with these instructions is mandatory for departmental officers and the trade, and any implementation issues should be reported to the Board.
