of <h1>CBIC Extends Temporary Customs Clearance Measures u/s 143AA to May 30, 2020, Due to COVID-19 Lockdown.</h1> The circular reviews measures implemented to facilitate trade during the COVID-19 lockdown under section 143AA of the Customs Act, 1962. Initially, an undertaking in lieu of a bond was accepted for customs clearance until May 15, 2020, due to restrictions from March 25 to May 3, 2020. Following the extension of the lockdown until May 17, 2020, the acceptance of undertakings was extended to May 30, 2020, as per CBIC Circular No. 23/2020. Importers, exporters, customs brokers, and stakeholders are advised of these temporary measures and extensions.
